Our Story: From Chance Encounter to True Love.

Our journey began in the most unexpected way during the height of the Covid pandemic. It was a random encounter, one neither of us could have predicted, but from that moment, we knew we had found something special. Despite the world feeling uncertain, we’ve never regretted it and have been building our love story ever since.

One of the things that’s always brought us closer is our shared love of travel. Whether we’re exploring far-off destinations or discovering hidden gems closer to home, we always find joy in experiencing the world together. Algarve was our first holiday together and at the end of it since we didn't kill each other we realized we can do this for life. That's why we are bringing you back to where it all started.

Korbi has been the biggest influence on Trudie when it comes to hiking and cycling. Before him, she never thought she’d enjoy those activities, but now we spend countless hours on trails, cycling through scenic paths, and challenging each other to go further. Not only that, but Korbi has even helped Trudie fight her fear of water, overcoming hydrophobia and learning how to swim! It’s been an incredible journey of growth, trust, and pushing boundaries, and she’s never been more grateful.

When Korbi met Trudie his world expanded in ways he never expected, including his taste buds. Korbi has since fallen in love with the vibrant flavors and colorful spices that Trudie brings to every meal. From ugali with sukuma wiki to chapati with some ndengu he’s learned to appreciate bold herbs, exotic produce, and plant-forward dishes he never knew he’d enjoy. Trudie is now on a mission to help Korbi find his rhythm, especially when it comes to dancing. Of course, there’s still some work to do. But no matter how off-beat we may be, we know we’re in this together, supporting and encouraging each other every step of the way.

Now, as we stand on the edge of a new chapter, we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate the life we’ve built with you. From the accidental meeting to the adventures we’ve had and the challenges we’ve faced, we know that the best is still ahead of us.

FAQ

Can we bring our children?
As much as we adore your little ones, we kindly ask for an adults-only celebration (except for immediate family and bridal party kids). We hope this gives you a chance to relax and enjoy the festivities!
Can I bring a plus one?
We’re keeping the event intimate, so invitations are only for the guests named. Thank you for understanding!
Where should we stay?
You decide! We can recommend the nearby Regency Salgados Hotel where we’ve stayed before but there are many options in Albufeira. You can of course also stay at the Kimpton Atlantico. In that case reach out to us, there might be a discount available.
What’s the dress code?
Black Tie: think tuxedos, floor-length gowns, or chic formal wear. See below for more details.
What about dietary requirements?
We’ve got you covered. Just let us know your dietary needs when you RSVP, and our caterers will make sure you’re well looked after.
Are there any pre-wedding or post-wedding events?
We are hoping for a very relaxed weekend for everyone. If there will be any gatherings before or after the wedding, we will keep you in the loop.
Do you have a wedding gift registry?
Your love and support are the greatest gifts we could ask for. However, if you’d like to give a gift, we kindly ask for a monetary contribution to help us begin our new chapter together.
How do we get to the venue?
Flying into Faro? You’ve already in the Algarve! From there, it's an easy trip.
- Train – Regular regional trains run from Faro to Albufeira and are a scenic and affordable option.
- Taxi or Bus – Taxis and shuttle services are available at the airport, or you can hop on a local bus.
- Car Rental – If you’re planning to explore, renting a car is a great and affordable idea the roads are easy to navigate and the views are beautiful.

Coming from Lisbon? You have a few great options:
- Train – Direct trains from Lisbon (Oriente or Sete Rios stations) to the Algarve take about 3–4 hours.
- Bus – Several coach companies offer comfortable, affordable service with multiple daily departures.
- Drive – It’s a smooth and very scenic 2.5–3 hour drive via the A2 motorway.

And if you're thinking of turning the trip into a little holiday (which we fully support!), Seville is only about 2–3 hours away by train from Faro, with very reasonably priced tickets. You're already in the region—so why not take advantage and explore a bit more? Sun, tapas, and maybe some flamenco await!
What time should we arrive for the ceremony?
The ceremony will begin around 2:30 PM, so we kindly ask guests to arrive by 2:00 PM to allow time to be seated and enjoy the surroundings before the "I do's.”

Dress Code

Black Tie: tuxedos, floor-length gowns, or formal wear.

Female Dress Code

Think floor-length gowns, elevated cocktail dresses, or polished jumpsuits. While formalwear sets the tone, we’d love to see subtle nods to our chosen palette of greens and greys, whether it’s in accessories, fabrics, or details. It’s your chance to dress up, feel fabulous, and celebrate in style. Soft greys, or metallic accents can also beautifully reflect the colour palette. Think timeless glamour with a personal twist, whatever makes you feel fabulous and ready to dance!

Male Dress Code

Think classic and elegant! Dark suits or tuxedos are a great choice. While black tie is the vibe, feel free to make it your own with subtle touches of green or grey in your tie, pocket square, or accessories. It’s more about looking sharp and feeling great than strict rules. Just come dressed to celebrate in style!
